They bought it anyway…

I have often commented on the state of real estate and its citizens in my days as a Xanga blogger. I’ve been in the industry for a few years now and even got my license last year. Haven’t really used it but it’s a handy thing to have.  One of the benefits of being a Realtor is that I get a monthly magazine called Houston Realtor. They’ve started a new thing in the mag called REALtor World to “share interesting stories of your life in the business. Whether funny, heartwarming or educational”.

This is an excerpt from this months column:

was showing a vacant house and as soon I opened the door one of the children went running through the house; and smack right into the bay window. Blood started gushing right onto the brand new white carpet. I wasn’t too concerned about the child, but since it was my listing, I was more concerned about the carpet situation.”   (Emphasis added)

That was totally heartwarming now wasn’t it? For the rest of the story you can go here

Can’t buy me love

I was floating above the masses this evening, courtesy of my friend Junior, in the hallowed halls of one of the largest law firms in the country, Fulbright & Jaworski.

Must say it was pretty neat to wander into rooms where deals have been made, hearts broken and justice might have been done or simply left behind the velvet rope. All of this is well and good but the reason I wanted to blog about this evening was courtesy of the little vignette that Junior gave me that I simply shan’t forget.

On being questioned on how much parking costs him in Downtown Houston, Junior simply replied, ” Oh, I don’t pay”.

He continued, “You see Brown Boy, there are three things you just really shouldn’t pay for: Parking, water and sex.”

Somehow I think Junior just might be on to something.

You say goodbye and I say Hello!

In the beginning was the blog.

I’m not sure what I’m supposed to say for my first posting in my new spot in the blog world. This is supposed to be a new beginning for me. I’m a born-again blogger. After much thought and obfuscation I’ve decided to put myself out there for the world to see. Whether this venture in a new space will bring good things, we shall have to see.

So do you like what you see?
